FROM THE PRESIDENT

As we enter our 35th year, we find more reasons to celebrate – more grants fulfilled with more students benefitting from these grants in our schools.  None of this would be possible without our community partners that continue to support The Foundation; including contributions made through Toyota of Sylacauga and local support of our annual 5K/10K Run Event, Breakfast with Santa, Dollars for Scholars, Aggie Walk Brick Campaign and our Chair program.

Our mission continues to be one where we seek to enrich the quality of education for students by providing financial support to classroom teachers and programs. The four goals of our Strategic Plan guide our effort: To reach a total of $2 million in the endowment, to manage the assets so as to achieve the maximum return on investments, to award grants that have the maximum impact on student achievement, and to have a diverse board of community leaders. By using the interest earned from our careful investments, we have been able to award over $1.4 million in grants during our existence.

The success of the Sylacauga City Schools Foundation would not be possible without the continued partnership of our supporters. We invite you to join us with your financial support. Together we can make a difference for the children of Sylacauga.

FROM THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

On behalf of the Sylacauga City Schools Foundation, thank you for your support – past, present and future.

This Foundation makes great things happen from pre-kindergarten through graduation. By partnering with us, you become an investor in the future of our students. Sylacauga City Schools Foundation works to enhance the school system as a whole by providing the opportunity for teachers to receive supplemental funding through grant requests.

Grants from the Foundation inspire, ensure, and enhance the outstanding learning experience Sylacauga students consistently receive. To date, the Foundation has awarded more than $1.4 million in the areas of technology, fine arts, literacy, math, reading, STEM, and library enhancements which has affected more than 382,000 students. This is amazing, and all families and teachers should be grateful to those who had the foresight to establish the Foundation in 1988, making it the first in the state of Alabama for K-12 education. Throughout these years children and now grandchildren have benefitted.

The current endowment of over $1.9 million is a substantial base, but unfortunately not enough to fully fund the school system’s growing needs. Your partnership with the Foundation is crucial to its continued ability to supplement Sylacauga City Schools. Donations must continue; pledges must be made; and the corpus of the endowment must continue to grow. Sylacauga is an outstanding community because of its residents, its leadership, and its school system. Partner with us; invest with us. You will see the daily impact your gift has for decades to come.
